Apple Music raises US prices | First hike in four years, Family plan up $3

TL;DR

Apple Music raised US prices — Individual to $11.99 from $10.99, its first US hike in four years; Apple cited rising licensing costs.

Apple Music is more expensive. In the US, the Individual plan now costs $11.99 a month, up from $10.99 — Apple Music's first US price change in almost four years. The last one was in October 2022.

The steepest jump is the Family plan, up $3 from $16.99 to $19.99; the Student plan goes from $5.99 to $6.99. In a statement to Music Business Worldwide, Apple said the increase is the result of "rising licensing costs." Prices in the UK, Europe and other countries are going up too.

Apple also moved on its Apple One bundles. In the US, the Family plan rises from $25.95 to $27.95 and the Premier plan from $37.95 to $39.95 — both up $2 — while the Individual plan stays at $19.95.

It's another step in Apple pushing its services business higher. Even after the hike, Apple Music's $11.99 Individual plan is still cheaper than the equivalent Spotify tier.
