Microsoft sets a Win10 deadline for OneDrive | Older builds cut off Aug 15, 22H2 lasts to 2028

TL;DR

Microsoft set OneDrive's Windows 10 support timeline: updates for versions below 22H2 stop August 15, 2026, while 22H2 lasts until October 10, 2028. After that the client still runs but gets no updates and syncing isn't guaranteed.

Microsoft has published OneDrive's support timeline on Windows 10: starting August 15, 2026, it stops supporting all Windows 10 versions below 22H2; Windows 10 22H2 lasts until October 10, 2028 before support ends. Falling on the wrong side of the line are 21H2, 21H1, 20H2, 2004 and older.

End of support doesn't mean it won't open that day. The OneDrive client won't suddenly quit, but Microsoft said upfront: older versions won't get security updates, bug fixes or feature updates, syncing isn't guaranteed to keep working, and one day even signing in may fail. Microsoft's action item is blunt — update to at least Windows 10 22H2 to keep OneDrive sync supported, a line that runs through October 2028.

Updates first, then sync, then possibly sign-in — Microsoft has laid out a three-step timeline for users still on old Windows 10. To keep OneDrive, get the system up to 22H2.
